Children need tubes of amsrties to do this activity. They have lots of fraction questions to answer; ie what fraction of the smarties are blue etc. Aligned with Common Core State Standards: 3.NF.1, Number and Operations: Fractions; 4.NF.1, Number and Operations: Fractions.
