This is a task to help students become comfortable using two methods of finding the area of a triangle. I have intended to give them the opportunity to decide their preferred way on how they can work backwards to find a missing side in a triangle given the area.

It is a short task and I have deliberately used simple numbers to keep the numeracy work low and focus more on the mathematical process.

For extension I suggest getting student to make as many different triangles as possible for the last question.

To be really mean try putting 360cm^2 on the board :)
