Five Pillars - lesson 6 - Hajj (experiential)

This is the last in a series of 6 lessons exploring Key Beliefs and the Five Pillars of Islam with this focus being on Hajj. It is written for Year 5 but easily adaptable. We start with a warm up looking at illustrated Hajj maps and the children look for differences and similarities while working out what the lesson will be about. We think about special imaginary and real journeys and have a guided visualisation of visiting the Emerald City. We then look at photos around the room of the Hajj and leave post it note questions on them. We then go on our own experiential Hajj around the school before returning to the class to watch some clips. Feedback welcome.
