An extension and enrichment pack on flower structure for KS3 Biology students aged 11-14. Designed to go beyond the standard worksheet, this resource develops deeper thinking, scientific reasoning, and application skills across four varied activities.
The pack includes four activities, one per page: a 12-term vocabulary matching activity covering all key terms from anther and filament through to fertilisation and gamete; a 25-mark challenge quiz featuring scenario questions, a data analysis task on wind versus insect pollination, and an extended writing question on the impact of declining pollinator populations; a 20-mark case study based on the real-world bee crisis, with questions ranging from comprehension to higher-order evaluation; and a creative “Teach It Back” activity where students write an explanatory guide for a younger audience, assessed using a provided marking rubric. Answer keys and marking guidance are included for all activities in a separate file.
Suitable for extension tasks, homework challenges, cover lessons, or gifted and talented provision. The complete lesson bundle including the main worksheet and this extension pack is available separately. Search “iNewittAll” on TES.
