Split students into groups, giving each group a copy of the distances.
Display the different stadiums around the room.
Give each team a different country to caluclate how many land miles they have to travel for their group rounds. They will also have to look at the dates and work out the order of the games.
Which team has to travel the furthest?
The grid of land miles can be used for anything you like.
I took all of the pictures out as I wasn't sure about copyright. So you may wish to add pictures of the stadiums and a map of Brazil to make the resource look more lively.
