This Forces & Magnets Sensory Access Pack is designed to support pupils working at an early developmental or pre-key stage to access KS2 science objectives through hands-on, sensory experiences.

The pack provides Explore-level activities linked to the KS2 Forces & Magnets curriculum, enabling pupils to engage with key concepts such as movement, gravity, magnetism, resistance, and cause and effect before formal recording or worksheet tasks.

Each activity includes:

What to offer (simple, accessible resources)

The adult role at Explore level

What learning might look like

Practical classroom use

Clear curriculum links (Year 3 & Year 5)

This resource supports schools in meeting expectations around inclusive curriculum access for pupils with additional needs, recognising that learning may be shown through engagement, repetition, anticipation, and sensory interaction rather than written outcomes.

Ideal for:

SEND and specialist settings

Pupils working below age-related expectations

Pre-key stage or early curriculum access

Teachers seeking alternatives to worksheet-led lessons

No printing or recording required. Activities can be repeated, adapted, and revisited as needed.
