Free demo of My Little Post Round, an interactive coordinates game for Years 6-9. Open the single HTML file in any modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone: nothing to install, no account, no ads. Try the Village Map with your class before deciding on the full resource.

How it works

Pupils play a postie in a small village. Each question gives the name of a place (the school, the bakery, the bridge…) and pupils find it on the map, then enter its address (x, y) with two large + and - buttons. Right or wrong, the game answers at once. After a mistake, a hint appears; after a second mistake, the correction replays the method on the map: move along x first, then up or down along y. A short timer, a streak counter and sound effects keep the pace up, and a plush animal postie guides the round.

The Village Map activity (included in the demo)

  • 10 questions per game, in 4 kinds: addresses, “what is here?”, quadrants and streets
  • Every place on the map has an (x, y) address, in all four quadrants
  • Right-angle thinking: x first, then y, always shown in the correction
  • Score and “mission accomplished” screen at the end of each game

Try it at your own level

  • Level 1: positives only (0 to 5)
  • Level 2: progressive (0 to 5, then -5 to 5)
  • Level 3: complete (-5 to 5)
  • Level 4: scale of 2 (-10 to 10)
  • Zen practice mode: no timer, with hints, no pressure

For every learner

  • Dyslexia-friendly font and spacing, three text sizes
  • Read-aloud button on every question
  • No precise pointing needed: two big + and - buttons per axis
  • Music and sound effects can be switched off
