WHY FOUR IN A ROW?
Four in a Row is a maths worksheet that plays like a game. Each sheet contains 36 questions linked to a shuffled 6 x 6 answer grid. Pupils solve a question, locate the answer and claim the square, aiming to make four in a row before their partner.
The format creates immediate purpose: pupils have decisions to make, answers to locate and a reason to keep going. Yet the engagement never replaces the mathematics. Used independently, the grid becomes a built-in self-check. Use the sheets as pair games, individual work, homework, intervention, retrieval, starters or cover.
BUILT FOR MIXED-ABILITY TEACHING
Pupils’ rounding gaps can be very different. One learner may need nearest-100 practice; another may struggle with significant figures; another may be ready for surds, standard form or algebraic coefficients.
This programme solves that problem through 32 precise levels. Choose the sheet that matches the learner rather than forcing the whole class onto one undifferentiated worksheet. Different pupils can work on different levels while sharing exactly the same familiar Four in a Row structure.
Twenty-five focused levels isolate a clearly named demand. The 1-decimal-place sheet practises 1 decimal place; the recurring-decimal level uses genuine recurring decimals with visible recurring dots. This is precise intervention and targeted practice.
Seven consolidation levels then combine authorised completed skills, with accessible entry points and a controlled spread of challenge. Differentiation is built into the progression rather than added afterwards.
