When I started at my former school, they didn’t have a SoW for KS3. Our lovely HoD thought it best to teach an entire half-term around the topic of Oradour-sur-Glane… During lockdown too…
We tried to expend a bit by talking about the Resistance and the 2nd WW in general. Eventually, we got a proper SoW.
