This year is the anniversary of the TV Show that’s why this workbook was created.
It focuses on all the aspects of the language (the blue and yellow signs on the right will help you to navigate through the textbook to understand what skill you’re working with):

  • Speaking (description of a character, houses, rooms, furniture, work with famous phrases from the TV show, follow-up questions for discussions). All the activities of this type can be done either orally or in writing.
  • Listening (CNN News video + questions activity, a famous song by Phoebe + fill in the gaps and vocabulary activity, episodes from the show + fill in the gaps activity + questions and vocabulary activity, an interview with Matt LeBlanc + questions activity).
  • Reading (an extract from CNN article + vocabulary)
  • Vocabulary (description of a character, a house, furniture, famous phases used in ‘Friends’+exercises to practice all the new words + interactive FLASHCARDS to learn them)
  • FUN (quiz + vocabulary drill, test ‘which ‘Friends’ character are you?’ + vocabulary drill, GUESS THE WORD GAME to check how well you know this show, memes from the show + vocabulary,
Some listening and vocabulary activities are provided with answer keys which you can find at the end of the book.
At the end of this workbook, you’ll also find a link to access a special Quizlet wordlist so you can learn all the new words from the lesson with ease.
Sometimes you’ll need the Internet and YouTube to watch the videos and a dictionary to look up the words. To find the necessary videos you can use the direct link provided or just type their titles in the YouTube search bar.
This lesson can be done with a teacher or by a student him/herself. Each task that requires an answer in writing is provided with blank space so the lesson can be printed out or kept in a digital version if you prefer.
But the main rule of this workbook is to enjoy the process! As Alfred Mercier once said, “What we learn with pleasure we never forget.” So have fun learning English with the characters of your favorite show!
