The learning experience “From Tens to Tenths” guides learners to understand the role of the decimal point and the relationship between tenths, hundredths, and thousandths, connect the fractional representation to the decimal representation and explore decimal place value. Learners are provided with the place value chart, a set of number patterns, and blocks patterns. They are required to go over inquiry steps to discover how the pattern is the number system extends. First, they take a guess on what they think the answer to the question might be. Second, they observe the given number and block patterns. Third, they search for patterns and make predictions in terms of the patterns you found. Fourth, they look at the result you found and evaluate your hypothesis. Fifth and finally, they discuss your results and what they found out. They can use drawings and models to present their ideas.
