FS English - Writing a formal report based on the introduction of the new £1 coin

This is an informative lesson resource using the imminent launch of the new £1 as a basis for writing a formal report.
It will be appropriate for Levels 1 and 2 students studying Functional Skills English, as well as older GCSE English students.
There is a sheet with tips on writing a report, a page illustrating and explaining the layout (based on information in WJEC Functional English Level 2 Student Book by Stuart Sage, Michael Ross, and Natalie Simpson ) 2 pdf files concerning the launch from the Royal Mint website (www.thenewpoundcoin.com) and 4 versions of the writing task.
Each version of the writing task, 'New Quid on the Block', is slightly different in design based on whether you want to include coverage of direct and indirect speech and planning and drafting their work.
