This is a fully differentiated lesson for learners of both functional skills and GCSE English. The lesson helps learners to understand the differences between implicit and explicit information which is a key skill required for their GCSE’s.
The lesson looks at one of the issues of Free School Meals during the Co-vid crisis and how this was overcome by the footballer Marcus Rasford. The lesson includes opportunities for AFL in both reading and writing and comes with an annotated student response.

All of my lessons have been tried and tested. If you liked this lesson then please check out my shop for more lessons and resources with more being added each week.
