Investigating further calculus differentiation of sin, cos, index brackets and chain rule using the co-operative learning technique 'numbered heads together&'. group pupils into groups of 4, then number pupils 1 to 4. The 1s leave their &';home' team and gather with 3 other 1s to learn about one of the four topics. The 2s, 3s and 4s similarly go into another group. After 10-15 mins everyone returns &'home&'; and teaches their skill to the rest of the group, as does the 2s, 3s and 4s. [Scottish Higher Maths Unit 3 - Further Calculus]

What I like about this resource is that it very much encourages students to discover the mathematics independently. The differentiating Sine and Cosine functions worksheets demonstrate this perfectly.
