GCSE AQA Ozymandias Detailed Analysis

GCSE AQA Poetry detailed line my line higher level analysis of ‘Ozymandias’ in the Power and Conflict Specification in the AQA Anthology. This resource contains one PowerPoint that goes through AO2, AO3, and AO4. The AO3
covers the context of the poem as well as Shelley’s background and the context of Rameses II. The AO2 is covered through the analysis of Language, Form and Structure, where the language of each line is analysed in depth with questions that guide the students to lead to further analysis. The resource ends with an Exam Question comparing ‘Ozymandias’ to ‘My Last Duchess’ on the theme of power and control. This focuses on the AO4 comparison and deals with the comparison of Structure and Form, which is usually answered less frequently in student answers.
