AQA GCSE Science and Combined Science | The Scientific Method | Working Scientifically Disciplinary Literacy

Build literacy and scientific vocabulary in your students with this resource telling the story of how scientific theories are developed and supported through the scientific method! Designed for KS4 Science, this is a reading comprehension task which introduces key words and key concepts in the Working Scientifically section of the AQA specification (WS 1.1 Understand how scientific methods and theories develop over time and WS 1.6 Recognise the importance of peer review) that often slip through the net in schemes of work.

The approximate reading age of this resource is 13-14 years old, originally targeted at mixed ability year 10 students. The text is accompanied with a glossary and comprehension task to help your students progress.

This is ideal for in-class activities, at the beginning of a topic for homework, or independent study, this resource will help students appreciate the evidence backing the theories that we take for granted as correct.
