I was teaching the topic of family members to a Y7 group a few weeks ago, and one of them asked me how we would call family members who identified as non-binary. It stumped me!

There was a wealth of information to read, but zero resources, so thanks to some very helpful linguists (credited in the PPT), I was able to put together the attached lesson. It is very heavily (if not entirely!) based on the information they have provided; I just hoped to make it accessible to pupils.

I hope you find this useful; always happy to hear how to make this even more pupil-friendly (I think there might be a bit much text…).
