Can be used for a range of ages - I have used with year 5, 7, 8, 9 & 10 - just make sure it is detailed for specific abilities. This is a great activity to encourage students to write in different genres and to be able to construct and ensure students can follow a story so it ultimately makes sense. Normally I do this in groups of 4-6 students and they have six five minute sessions of writing.
