The lessons focus on the key skills of reading and allow the children to explore the high quality text, whilst learning new reading skills.
Learning objectives include how to retrieve the ingredients used in the medicine from the text, to make inferences about the possible consequences of George’s actions using drama, to create questions to ask a character, to use a dictionary to find the meaning of unknown words, to use evidence to support an explanation and many more.
The lessons have been developed for lower key stage 2 children, but could be easily adapted using the differentiated resources for any age group.
