Thanks for the feedback Rachel. I take on board your comments regarding insufficient detail. What I would say, however, is that Hopkins' work is quite difficult and at times inaccessible for your average LC student. The resources, therefore, are intended as an introduction to his work that breaks it down for those students struggling with his work. I've taught English and worked as a department examiner for over twenty years now and I've found that to do well in the seen poetry, you need to have a firm grasp of four poems with a decent knowledge of approximately three or four poetic devices per poem: the resources here aim to provide students with this solid foundation for the examination. In this regard, putting a lot of material on powerpoints like these defeats the purpose somewhat, especially given we're doing a lot more remote teaching. A few comments by way of reply. First of all, I've taught English and worked as a department examiner for almost twenty years. Secondly, the resource is intended as a revision aid for those students who are struggling to get to grips with Hopkins' poetry. If you're looking for a more in depth analysis with lots of &quot;graphics&quot;, perhaps you should upload some of your own work which I'm sure is excellent and far better value than anything else here available on Hopkins. In the meantime, you might be better served by eschewing ad hominem criticisms of an individual's capacity to teach by instead contributing some of your own insights and thoughts on Hopkins. <br />
