Artificial Intelligence (AI) has advanced significantly in recent years, with generative AI enabling tools which are user-friendly and accessible to all.

Virtual assistants, chatbots and other products have the ability to create content, analyse data and assist with day-to-day admin, so it’s unsurprising that teachers worldwide are turning to them to support teaching and learning.

As with any new technology, however, we need to think critically before using generative AI to support our work with children and young people, and treat it as a springboard for creativity and an assistant in specific ways, rather than a replacement for human expertise.

Our free guide for teachers outlines some examples of how and where teachers may use generative AI in their planning, assessing and teaching of PSHE — considering some of the advantages and disadvantages/risks in each of these contexts.
