This scheme of work introduces students to the orchestra, its 4 families, layout and the role of the conductor. It is done through the theme of Harry Potter. Students will be 'sorted' into a house (ability based) and will work towards a whole class orchestra style performance of Hedwig's Theme.
This unit is aimed at Year 7 students but could be adapted for older year groups.

Includes a 7-week lesson plan and a pupil workbooklet which includes written and listening activities along with the sheet music for their performance.

Great resource but please can you tell me where I can find the example recording of Hedwig's Theme that they need in the Conductor lesson? Is it just a real orchestra playing it? Thanks

There are some great ideas but one or two resources referred to that aren’t included and I can’t find, so sadly not complete....
