A listening activity for KS3 students to introduce them to the brass instruments of the orchestra.
This activity aims to introduce KS3 students to the trumpet, french horn, trombone and tuba through the use of John Williams’ ‘Qudditch’ movement from his Harry Potter Children’s Suite (the link to the YouTube video is included in the document).
Other musical terminology is included such as major and minor and a selection of Italian tempo words with their English equivalent.
Finally, students will be required to complete a paragraph based upon features of brass instruments.
