Highland Clearances Assembly/ Play Script (Burn's Night, St Andrew's Day)

This fabulous resource pack includes an assembly/ play script that summarises what happened during the Highland Clearances. The script contains 3 scenes, set in both a modern classroom and onboard a ship to Nova Scotia in 1860.

There are 2 songs included in the performance. The first is a traditional Scottish lullaby about the Highland Clearances called ‘Smile in Your Sleep (Hush Hush)’. The second song is called ‘Rest, Rest’ and is my modern rewriting of the first song, with lyrics that give tribute to the victims of the Highland Clearances.
