An accompanying booklet for the book ‘When Hitler Stole Pink Rabbit’ by Judith Kerr. This can be used as a stretch and challenge project for students to complete independently, or as a Guided Reading project for smaller groups of students.

The booklet is divided into 6 weeks. Each week contains instructions on which pages to read, an accompanying vocabulary builder to support student vocabulary acquisition and cultural capital, and an overarching history-based question about the pages read. There are prompt ideas for students so scaffold their responses to the questions outlined.

Instructions feature at the start of the booklet, as well as some introductory context to help support students’ understanding.

This booklet can be used as a reading initiative in its own right, or alongside the history/RE curriculum in a primary or secondary setting.

More booklets are available for: The Tattooist of Auschwitz, The Help, and Michael Morpurgo’s Beowulf.
