7 page Word document with homophones/homonyms and homographs activities:

Task 1: a proofreading exercise in which the student has to identify and correct the 100 incorrectly used words in a story (which is around 750 words and about a brother and sister at a funfair).

Task 2: students read a set of 20 sentences and choose the correct homophone to complete each sentence.

Task 3: students identify whether the underlined words in each sentence are homonyms, homophones or homographs and justify their answers in each case.

Task 4: students complete the 10 sentences using the word options in the box provided and then explain why the use of the homonym/homograph/homophone makes the sentence comic.

This would be particularly suitable for P6/7 level or ESL language students.

Common they're/their/there type errors are included.
