• This teaching resource explains the work of Professor Richard Harper, based at Lancaster University in the UK, who is the principal investigator of a project called the Future Places Centre. This project is investigating how computing, the Internet of Things and data science can generate information that people can use to make their future places healthier.
• This resource also contains an interview with Richard and his colleagues Jan and Rachel. If you or your students have a question for them, you can submit it online – go to the article using the Futurum link below and scroll to the bottom of the page. The team will reply!
• The activity sheet provides ‘talking points’ (based on Bloom’s Taxonomy) to prompt students to reflect on the team’s research, and challenges them to devise a public information campaign.
