This lesson focusses on the impact the Soviet Union had on the lives of those in their sphere of influence in eastern Europe. A cart sort activity is used to give the students information about how the USSR control people but also showing some positive changes. For the final task, students take on the role of an American reporter reporting on the situation in eastern Europe which teaches the students about different interpretations.
