How to compare Power and Conflict poems

A lesson (fully resourced) to teach with more able KS4 students follwing the AQA Power and Conflict texts - will probably take between 1-2 hours to deliver.
Activities include: summary of mark scheme and all past questions, challenge Learning Objective with register challenge. Clips and a collaborative ‘blind date’ style kagan task. Then there’s an exploration of The Emigree as well as a verbal recap of London. A plan re: how to structure the essay and a model Venn is introduced. For the main activity, students must use a model comparative paragraph to have a go at writing their own comparative answer on The Emigree and London with a focus on PLACE. The plenary is guided peer assessment.
