I Love Punctuation: A Whole School Approach to Teaching Punctuation

This pack contains a whole school approach (Early Years to Year 6) to the introducing and teaching of punctuation. Each different punctuation mark has a symbol, action and sound. The pack features a whole school timeline to show pupils and teachers when each aspect of punctuation should be being used and introduced. There are punctuation POSTERS for each year group showing which punctuation marks pupils should be using. There are also checklists for pupils to self assess their work against. This pack enables punctuation to be taught systematically throughout school using a clear and streamlined approach. It has been created to provide a consistent approach to punctuation teaching and displays in school. The pack has been made to meet the standards set out in the New National Curriculum 2014. The pack is supported by a POWERPOINT file containing actions and sounds for each aspect of punctuation. This approach enables pupils to join in with guided writing and reading. It therefor works well when used with 'TALK FOR WRITING' approaches.
