An excellent resource which introduces the themes and ideas of the First World War and can be used for Remembrance Day as a stand alone lesson.
Included is a language device starter which can be used to quickly review and recap poetic devices. Comprehension style questions which support pupils to either work in groups or individually and encourages them to explore key ideas. Finally a success criteria and two model paragraphs which can be used for peer assessment. This lesson was used very successfully during an Ofsted observation and received very positive feedback.
