Induction lesson - A level Business/ end of year project

This could be used as an induction lesson for prospective Year 12 AS Level Business students. I designed it for the CIE course but could be adapted. Could also be used as an end of year project for Year 12. It is based on my local area and the calculations for wages are UK centric, it may be possible to find a website that does the same sort of calculation for a business based overseas.

Summary - students are given a business plan. They will need to decide if it is missing any information (there is very little primary market research), whether the figures are accurate (are there enough staff or too many), they need to decide on sales volume. They will need to complete a 12 month cashflow and ultimately decide whether or not this is a viable business opportunity. To extend the project you could get them to do some market research, look at alternative sources of finance, they should present back their findings and opinion to the class.
