Make number recognition and counting more interactive with this Ten-Frame Number Check PowerPoint, designed to support children in recognising, counting and understanding numbers from 0–10.

The resource begins with standard ten-frame representations, building systematically from 0 to 10. Counters are positioned consecutively from left to right, helping children become familiar with the structure of a ten frame and develop their ability to recognise quantities without relying solely on one-to-one counting.

Once children are confident with the standard representations, the activity progresses to more challenging ten frames with gaps and non-standard arrangements. This encourages children to look carefully at the quantity represented rather than simply memorising the usual pattern.

Children can click the counters as they count, helping them keep track of each object. They then decide which number they think the ten frame represents before selecting “Review the number” to reveal the correct numeral and check their answer. A Reset button allows the activity to be used again.
