Today I have a nice interactive visual aid to help students understand factors/variables to consider while planning and performing an experiment. You can generate a testable question, then in groups they try to decide which variables are needed for the experiment and how to group them. The teacher can use this visual aid directly on the slide in real time.

This only works on Windows computers. Unfortunately Apple’s PowerPoint doesn’t support macro features which enables code to run.
