Here is a lesson I have created for a mixed/high ability year 7 group on solving equations. It assumes that they have learned both about inverse functions, and forming expressions from words. I found this approach to develop a deep understanding of what is happening when we solve equations and haven't seen it taught this way, let me know what you thought about it!
