Introduction to the Drum Kit

This file introduces students to the drum kit and a simplified version of notating drumbeats using a series of grids (columns and rows).

This file includes:

• A link to a digital, interactive version of the page
• Label the drum kit activity
• Reading graphic notation for the drum kit quiz
• Practical activities that can be performed on the drum kit or as body percussion to develop limb independence
• Make your own beat activity where students can create their own beats once they are comfortable in playing some basic beats on the drum kit.

This package can be used as an introduction to body percussion, playing the drum kit or as an introduction to creating beats using software.
