Scientists believe that they may have found traces of water on the surface of Mars.  Although the discovery has not yet been confirmed, it may pave the way for future manned exploration as water would be required for the production of rocket fuel as well as human consumption.  This comprehension resource supports a BBC Newsround text about the discovery.
The resource contains 3 worksheets of questions, differentiated for use through KS1 and KS2.  It could also be used to support readers in KS3.  Answers and ‘content domain’ references are included for each question.
