Join a Club!

• READY TO TEACH * (LESSON 5/5 - SETTLING INTO SECONDARY SCHOOL)

Pupils recap the clubs offered to them at school (have a copy of the school’s club list - this information can be displayed on slides 3-7). Explain the importance of joining a club after school. The task is to create an informative poster encouraging more individuals to join a club of their choice (examples are conveyed on slide 10 as a stimuli). As a plenary, pupils can present their poster to the class or select a couple of examples whilst circulating the room to show on the classroom portable camera, projected onto the classroom whiteboard. To conclude, pupils reflect on their current involvement in extra-curricular activities.
