This is the third booklet in a set of three designed to develop the keyboard skills of key stage 3 students. The focus in this third booklet is learning how to play a melody and accompaniment, simultaneously. Like the other two booklets in this series, this booklet takes students from a rudimentary level all the way to a very advanced level, treating the skill of playing a melody and accompaniment with coordinated left and right hands as being separate to single hand melody playing, and playing a melody with 2 hands across two staves.

There are 15 pieces in this booklet, each of which is progressively more difficult. There is a great variety of styles incorporated into this booklet from traditional Classical to Pop, and folk, film, and cartoon music in between, so there will be something for all across the levels. Some of the pieces include: Inspector Gadget and Harry Potter Themes, Beethoven’s Ode to Joy, Drunken Sailor, and Air on the G String.

The pieces are all arranged with the correct fingering to allow students to learn good technique, and they are all fun to learn, and are fairly well-known. I hope that your students will enjoy learning them as much as I have enjoyed creating this booklet. Thank you for considering this resource for your classroom.
