KS2 Character Education: Resilience — SEND-Adapted Pack
A full SEND-adapted version of the KS2 Character Education: Resilience unit. Includes an EEF-strategy Teacher Guide, a Scaffolded Pupil Workbook for all 6 lessons, a Simplified Knowledge Organiser, DfE Engagement Model planning for EHC pupils, and 6 rebuilt lesson decks with picture-supported scaffolds throughout. Same content as the mainstream scheme — mistakes help us grow (growth mindset and the power of yet), coping with tricky feelings, knowing who is in your corner, and keeping going — simplified for full-class access. Built on the Jubilee Centre framework; secular and faith-compatible; character is reflected on, never graded.
This pack follows Verity’s standard two-tier SEND structure. Tier A — adaptive teaching for pupils with SEND without an EHC plan: the whole class stays on the same ambitious content, with the right scaffolds, not a watered-down version. Tier B — DfE Engagement Model (2020) planning for pupils with EHC plans: sensory, multi-modal access ideas, core truths at an accessible level, and symbol-supported key words. The Teacher Guide is mapped to the Education Endowment Foundation’s five evidence-based SEND strategies (explicit instruction, scaffolding, flexible grouping, cognitive and metacognitive strategies, and purposeful use of technology). Every file is an editable Word or PowerPoint document. Works alongside the mainstream unit (sold separately); it does not replace it.
