The PowerPoint explores:

  • Summary of The Blitz with explanations around the origin of the name
  • Videos and photographs depicting shelters, bomber planes, destruction of cities
  • Description of difference between primary and secondary sources

The activity:
Using a mixture of primary and secondary resources provided, the task is to information-gather across these sources to fill in the worksheet. The worksheet has boxes provided for the children to write what they have learned about The Blitz through their research.
There is an alternative scaffolded worksheet with fewer boxes to fill in, and a useful ‘word bank’ to help with key vocabulary.
