10 targeted exercises designed to last no longer than 5 minutes on different grammatical rules. They range in difficulty from identifying word classes to formulating different sentence types.
Each task has a specific focus, for example differentiating noun types. They explain the relevant rule, give an example and finish with a quick independent task.
I created these to use as clear evidence of targeted intervention. If students are struggling with key grammatical concepts in their independent writing, I direct them to to complete the relevant task before correcting their writing. They also work well as a quick starter if you’ve been working on a specific rule with the whole class.
