A 6-lesson online unit aimed at KS3 students from years 7-9 that explores different styles of music around the world, engaging students in listening exercises that link to stylistic conventions. Activities include: introduction of genre-specific instruments, introduction to dance conventions, practical tasks on instruments/virtual instruments, lyrical analysis, testing prior knowledge and a research project to complete the unit to form an assessment for formative/summative purposes. Countries/Areas studied include: India, Ireland, Latin America and USA.
