Reading and Writing Music: The Basics. Starter and Homework 2 of 12. This provides and work sheet and answer sheet as a starter activity on the keyboard and recognising notes. This starter is designed to be followed up with the homework sheet which focuses on the treble clef also provided with this resource. A nice idea is for them to then play the music they have notated on the keyboards in the following lesson as a quick starter/recap. There is also a PowerPoint for interactive keyboard note naming for students. This is particular good for students with little "traditional" music knowledge. Those who are established on their instruments may find it too simple.
