Three PowerPoints, a cloze exercise and a copy of the short story 'Lamb to the Slaughter' by Roald Dahl. I used this with a low-ability year nine group but it should also work with year seven and eight. The lessons look at character descriptions and also address how tension and suspense are created. I have included the link to the 'Tales of the Unexpected' television show.
