A visual multi-representation of learning multiplication facts using number paths and number lines.
It incorporates the language of strategy (4 of anything is double double eg 4 sixes is double double 6 so students may write
4 sixes = 2 x 12 (the 12 being double 6)
= 24) and so this is about having a strategy for each fact not rote learning (the only rote learned facts are doubles and tens). Using a strategy is more efficient than skip counting 4,8… or 6, 12…, builds on what they know (doubling) and is therefore easier to repeat.
