Lesson 34

This 60–90 minute lesson supports learners in turning their astronomy observation notes into a clear, audience-appropriate presentation. It follows Lesson 35 and prepares learners for the evaluation and improvement work in Lesson 37. Through discussion, comparison activities, guided planning and rehearsal, learners choose a suitable format, organise their work into an introduction, method, results, discussion and conclusion, and present evidence using labelled tables, sketches, photographs or other visual aids. The lesson also develops communication skills by asking learners to adapt scientific language for different audiences, manage the timing of a short presentation and respond honestly and clearly to questions.
