**This is a brilliant creative lesson on depression for teens. It can be used with Key Stage 3 classes (US Grades 6 to 8) in PSHE, ENGLISH, RE or Citizenship. **

The aim of these lessons is to create bright, honest, straightforward and well-designed activities and resources so that teens can connect with the material and understand why the topic is relevant to them. DON’T BE INTIMIDATED BY THE NUMBER OF SLIDES! The presentation has been specifically designed to have as little as possible on each slide so that they are easy to read, memorable and so they build a story!

The lesson is split into five sections: ‘What is depression?’; ‘Who gets depressed?’; ‘What does it feel like?’, ‘How do you recognise depression?’ and ‘What helps with depression?’.

Each section has a variety of activities so that you can adapt the lesson to your class and the amount of time you have available for the topic. The lesson plan has suggestions for a one hour lesson and a half hour lesson. The full lesson with all the activities would fill 90-100 minutes.

Included is an editable Power Point, a PDF version of the Power Point with easy to read, beautifully designed fonts, a PDF of the detailed lesson plan and PDFs of the three worksheets required both in colour and grayscale. Also included is the video of the TED Talk included in the lesson and a version of the ‘Who Said That?’ worksheet with the answers.

All feedback gratefully received! Thank you.
