I’ve just been working on my reports and thought I would try writing 3 statements for each ability group - More Able, Able and Less Able. They can possibly be used as they are but I have tried to write a bulk statement for each area and ability and will then adapt it to suit individuals. Hope this is of some use.
The following model is based around platform games and has incorporated within it Blooms taxonomy to promote stretch and challenge and differentiation, Hattie’s and William and Blacks theories and studies on assessment for learning as well as some collaborative and independent learning strategies taken from The Teachers Tool Kit by Paul Ginnis and Teaching Today by Geoff Petty. They are signposted as to when, where and what strategies could be used at the various stages or levels.
You and your students will be familiar with the ideas and structures that are drawn from gaming and are in the blue print of many young learners, and not so young learners, in the 21st century.
The GOLOCO model allows the learners the affordance they need to understand their own learning and to take control of their own progress and development.
Traditional pedagogy of teaching and learning mixed with the platform gaming format, sounds fun!
Surely I could synthesis this into how we might approach a lesson?
This model uses Gamification influences and structures in order to give students and teachers the affordance needed in today's teaching and learning arenas.
a guide and you can use it as you wish. Any feedback would be great as this helps me to develop
This is a useful GCSE subject tracker for anyone using Edexcel. Use it to keep track of your students' progress across Year 10 and Year 11.
How it works?
Teachers input periodic assessment scores (6 in each year). Tracker records and calculates progress against target data. It also shows when intervention is needed if a student's progress falls below expected. It provides useful analysis data such as predicted grades and progression charts.
Pearson published a 12 step progression scale which is mapped to GCSE content. Each step equates to a certain percentage in assessment scores. They also published grade mapping based on the 12 steps. This tracker uses the data and rationale behind the progression scale to determine grade predictions (visit Pearson's website for more details). However, you can set your own scale.
Can it be tweaked?
The scale and formulas can be tweaked to suit your needs. All scales are on a separate worksheet which makes it easy to customise.
