Cartoons introduce nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions, subjects and objects, then develop sentence structure, phrases, clauses and continuous writing. Later activities apply these skills to different purposes and styles: reports, job applications, invitations, recipes, instructions, newspaper stories and creative writing.
